| Task 12 – Regional Communication and Coordination | ||||||||||
Purpose The purpose of this task is to identify crucial linkages among the identified task elements that need to be established so that the impact of BRAC can be managed and absorbed without adversely affecting the quality of life for existing residents. The success of any regional development effort depends strongly on how well all of the various organizations communicate and work with one another. Research The Consultant Team will set up a computerized Internet-based Project Management System that enables the Consultant Team to coordinate the various elements of TASKS 1 through 11 into a unified process that avoids duplication of, and gaps in, activity. In addition, we will expand the Tennessee-Valley.org website so that it is a clear channel of information to the stakeholders and public concerning the key regional issues and the BRAC activity. This will also be used as a feedback mechanism for public response. As important as electronic communication will be for this project, it is also critical to have periodic face-to-face meetings. To that end, the Consultant Team will meet monthly with the Advisory Committee to present results-to-date and to obtain feedback on the work done. Additionally, working with the Advisory Committee, the Elected Officials Council, and the Regional Stakeholders Group, we will set up a series of three meetings to determine the structure and flow of the regional planning and implementation activity in a highly coordinated and collaborative fashion. Work Products The final deliverable for this task will be a Regional Summit. The Consultant Team will set up and facilitate this Summit to present the highlights of the TVRGCP in an informative and interesting manner. This presentation will be professionally crafted so that it will capture the interest of the audience and the news media. The proposed agenda for this Summit will be as follows:
