Purpose

The purpose of this task is to analyze, catalog and provide resources for cultural and recreation activities within the primary study area.

Research

The Chamber has proprietary rights of a fact book of recreational and cultural resources throughout the Tennessee Valley Region. Inclusive within this document is a database of information pertaining to museums, arts, education, concerts, festivals, theaters, gardens, natural features, sports and others. The Chamber will make this data base available within three weeks of the notice to proceed so the Madison County Commission will be able to host the information on its server.

The Consultant Team will interview personnel from cultural and recreational organizations to ascertain any information that is missing from the Chamber’s database. Any and all voids will be documented and changes will be made accordingly.

To determine areas for future development and expansion, the Consultant Team will review present studies and plans as well as assemble various focus group meetings. These focus groups will include, but not be limited to, youth, college students, professionals and senior citizens. Questions and discussions will consist primarily of the quality of life within the primary study area in regards to cultural and recreational opportunities. Based upon their findings, the Consultant Team will determine ways to promote development of regional facilities to accommodate population growth.
